Hello FIT FAM! So, here I am on my first post for my training and fitness blog/site. I cannot explain the excitement I have to share my little stories, secrets and passion I have with all of you. Not only am I obsessed with clean eating, exercise and fitness... I LOVE motivating others, which is why I am on this journey and encourage you to join me. So let's get this party started! I'm ready, are you??
Let me begin by sharing a little back-story on me. You may be thinking, who are you to give advice or tell me how to be healthy? You're right... I'm not a body builder, I'm not a fitness guru, or dietician. I am ME. Just like you. But I have a passion for being the best ME I can be. The passion comes from wanting to live fully, live healthy and treat my body as a temple that it is (corny, maybe- but true). We are only given one life, unless you're a cat. Our one human life on earth is in our own body and we have to live everyday looking at ourselves in a mirror. Our "skin" is the definition and initial image of who we are before a person gets to know us internally. My goal in life is to make a good impression, inside and out, no matter who I meet and I want to reflect that in my personality and in who I am. I was raised to carry myself as a lady, which in my opinion means to respect and care for yourself. I take my mother's words to heart whenever I eat healthy foods and put away the extra bag of lays potato chips. A lady has to live to see her children grow and be the woman she dreams to be. In order to live to her fullest potential, she must be at her best daily. My best is perfect health (what is in my control)- treating my body with utmost respect. It all starts with a positive mindset, a will, and dedication to being the best YOU can be.
My true fitness journey started about two years ago when I felt as though my life was restarting itself. I moved to Florida, a newly single lady, left a life that I felt comfortable in and started fresh. I used my frustration from my past to drive my success. I ran daily. I ran for a long time and pushed myself in 100 degree weather. I worked hard and tracked every nutrient that entered my body. Protein, Calories, Fat (good and bad), Vitamins, Amino Acids.. I wanted to be THE BEST I could be. I proved it to myself that with hard work anything is possible. I gained muscle. I lost fat. I went down a dress size and saw that I could actually GET abs. Whoa. It took this complete change and mind reset to show me how hard I could work to be the best ME. I have never looked back. Anytime I go through a lull, I look back at pictures of myself when I didn't feel my best and it drives me to push and push back to the top.
The dedication I have for myself daily motivates me to share which is why I have taken the step to create running and fitness groups and pursue my journey through personal fitness training. I am in the process of receiving my NASM-CPT certification and working one-one with people who have a passion but need the scope and direction to become their best. I encourage healthy eating, down-to-earth meetings, and HARD work. Your hard work drives my hard work and reminds me to stick with it. I am so excited to keep this train going at full speed and having you ride alongside me.
Time to get RIPPED! Let's do this!
